Unity Build is an interfaith build program and movement by Cape Fear Habitat to bring people together of different backgrounds and faiths to join forces to fund and construct two homes in partnership with two local families.

Want to join forces with your brothers and sisters to help change lives through affordable housing? Local faith communities can partner through donations and volunteer service. To make this project possible we need a total commitment of 500 volunteers and $120,000.

Meet the Future Homeowners!
- Ericka is the future homeowner of a new build in our Legacy Landing development who will be moving herself and her daughter into their new home in March! She is excited to allow her daughter to experience the same freedom she had when she was a child, including a home where it’s safe to play outside in the yard. She works as a merchandiser at a box store and a baker. She is looking for a sense of independence and peace of mind, setting an example for her daughter.
- Lucy is the future homeowner of a house we will be rehabilitating in Wilmington and will be moving in with her daughter in April. She works at Coastal Horizons as a Tailored Care Manager connecting the Latino Community with various needed resources. During the summers she works at YMCA as a coach for diabetes prevention. Lucy goes to church on Saturdays, so she partners with Habitat when she can during the week, as to not miss church.
A stable home will open the door to a brighter future for this family. Stable homes give freedom to invest in the future. Stable homes provide room to play and grow. Stable homes build confidence. When partnering with Habitat, you make the dream of a stable home a reality.

Timeline
Kickoff and Wall Raising (December)
After the fundraising period and reaching our goal, we will host a special kickoff event with representatives of the different faiths taking part in blessing the land before we officially begin construction. Then, together, we will raise the walls of the homes.
Build Days (January-Spring)
We will invite all of our supporting faith partners to take part in our Unity Build, to help build these homes alongside our partner families. Volunteer opportunities will be available Tuesday-Saturdays for the 4-6 months of construction on the homes.
Housewarming Celebration (Spring)
Upon completion of the homes, join us for a very special unique faith-based dedication ceremony where we bring all of our faith partners together to celebrate the handing of the keys to the partner families.
