Each year, the Golden Hammer Breakfast is a chance for community members, elected officials, and Cape Fear Habitat supporters to learn what Cape Fear Habitat is doing to address affordable housing in the region.
Thank you to those who joined us for our 2026 event on February 13th. We had a hopeful, inspiring morning thanks to Mike Queen, emcee, and Liz Carbone, keynote speaker.

HOPE
Hope. It drives our homeowners, our volunteers, our donors. Hope for a new life, for a transformed region. This year, our Golden Hammer Breakfast will revolve around this theme. Despite construction setbacks and funding shortfalls, Cape Fear Habitat has marched forward with our mission of building homes, communities, and above all, hope.
Christian, who moved into his Habitat home in 2011, sat down to talk about the impact of the Habitat program on his life. We encourage you to watch the video we showed at this year’s event.
