The Cape Fear Habitat Women Build Volleyball Tournament at Capt’n Bills (4240 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28403) is Saturday, May 10th. With a fun reverse-co-ed format, the proceeds from this tournament support Women Build.

Women Build & Brews will take place at Hi-Wire Brewing (1020 Princess St, Wilmington, NC 28401) on Wednesday, April 30th, from 5-7pm. Come out to mingle with staff, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters before the big event. Register below!
Women Build 2025
Are you looking for a way to make a direct and lasting difference in our community? Women Build is an opportunity to join with other women to help a female-led family achieve their dream of homeownership. By raising funds and working to help build a house, you are empowering others to change their lives forever and build a strong and resilient community. No experience is necessary! Habitat staff and skilled volunteers will be there to guide you along every step of the way. You’ll learn new skills, make new friends and create wonderful memories.
This year, you’ll be working alongside Raquel, the future homeowner! If you attended the 2025 Golden Hammer Breakfast, you heard Raquel speak about her experience in the program thus far, and we can’t wait for her journey to continue as the community comes together to build her home.
Raquel heard about the Homeownership Program through a coworker who has been in her Habitat home for 15 years. Raquel applied for the program in 2023, and hopes to own her own home to avoid rent increases and provide a safe space for her two children to grow up. She is a kindergarten teacher and loves her job. Raquel has completed her yoga teacher training and loves to share that passion with her children at home as well as at school. In her free time she also likes running, reading, and going to the beach.
